"The worst government in history"

Mark Serwotka, general secretary of the Public and Commercial Services Union (right), wins another of this blog's prizes for a speech of such bone-headed madness that it is genuinely difficult to find ways of making fun of it.

Remember that old Trot refrain, wishing that the Labour leadership would fight for its class the way that Margaret Thatcher fought for hers? He has gone one better: the Labour Government has fought for her class better than she did.

Speaking to the National Union of Teachers annual conference in Liverpool (yesterday I think but the Telegraph does not say), he described the Blair-Brown Government as "the worst government in the history of this country".

He called for unions to take “united industrial action” to defend jobs, pensions and services, and this is how NUT delegates responded, according to the Telegraph:

teachers chanted “the workers, united, will never be defeated” as they gave Mr Serwotka a standing ovation.

Perhaps, on deep reflection, this is a Labour plot. After all, who is going to vote Conservative because some infantile sub-Marxists tell them to?

The point is that some Labour supporters won't vote at all.

Either Mark Serwotka is about 20 years younger than what he looks , or he wants people to believe that Thatcher's Government (which sacked Thatcher as Prime-minister(as she was doing so well )) and a David Cameron Government (who wants to go back to the 1950's with freedom of discrimination ) would serve the Unions better ? Is this the £56,000 Plus salary talking for Mr Serwotka?
Most probably as Mr Serwotka's own personal& financial circumstances have substantially improved under the "Worst Government ever!" .
So what is Mr Serwotka attempting to imply ? Basically he is implying that Trade Union Leaders are as corrupt as the corrupt members of parliament , and look after their own interests first , rather than the interests of the members who pay for them .
